This is a pretty disturbing story. I’m all for gun shows and the right to arm ourselves with whatever the hell we want, even anti-tank guns, but it doesn’t seem smart to hand an 8-year old an UZI.

Calling it the “Fairness Doctrine” is exactly as horrible and backwards as calling Fox News “Fair and Balanced.” Pelosi and company have, indeed, been talking about bringing it back. I got fired from The New York Sun for reviewing a play that I’d only seen about half of. Ebert, however, gets a promotion for reviewing a movie he only saw eight minutes of! I would ask for my job back at The Sun if The Sun still existed. There is a difference, though. Ebert at least admitted within the review that he hadn’t seen the movie.
