Just say his ethnicity, it doesn’t make you racist.
I had one of those incidents yesterday where someone was trying to point out someone to me in a crowd, but he felt hesitant to describe how he actually looks.
Me: Who should I talk to on this quesiton?
Him: Actually that guy over there… the one with the sharp haircut (pointing towards a crowd)… the one not wearing a tie… the one who’s currently talking, oh he just shut up, oh he’s talking again now to the three other people….
Me: Oh, the Indian dude?
Him: Yep.
Moral: It’s fine, if the best way to describe someone in a crowd is “the Indian dude” or “the black guy” or the “Asian lady” then just say it. That’s what language is for, to be useful.
